Overview

Discover the fascinating world of English wine and spirits with this fabulous vineyard and distillery tour and tasting experience for two. Throughout the UK, acres upon acres of vines, grains and botanicals produce thousands of bottles of top quality, home grown, wines and spirits each year. This experience is an ideal opportunity to find out more about your favourite tipple!

During the tour, a knowledgeable guide will unravel the captivating history behind the ingredients. From the meticulous process of cultivating vines and harvesting grains, to the intricate art of fermentation, blending botanicals, and finally, the bottling of these liquid masterpieces. Discover how these high-quality ingredients are meticulously crafted in-house, and on a larger scale for commercial purposes.

After your tour, many venues offer cafes, restaurants, and shops where you can indulge in a delicious lunch or pick up something to bring home and enjoy later on. Each location offers a unique program, and it's worth noting that the Oxfordshire location includes both a winery and brewery tour and tasting for two, while the West Fisher Winery in Surrey offers a captivating winery tour instead of a vineyard tour.

Embark on this unforgettable adventure and immerse yourself in the exquisite world of vineyards and distilleries. Gain a newfound appreciation for the craft behind your favourite tipples and create lasting memories along the way.

Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery, Oxfordshire, Henley-on-Thames

Nikita from our Customer Testing Panel, August 2024

What did the experience entail?
I received the voucher for my Vineyard Tour and Tasting Experience for Two (Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery, Henley-on Thames, Oxfordshire) and I have to say that my friend and I were not disappointed. We arrived to this quaint family owned vineyard based in the most serene surroundings and were blown away. It was a 2 hour experience which started off with a brief history of the place, followed by a tour of the vineyard, grape press, brewery and bottling area, and finished off with an hour of tasting 5 different wines, 3 ales and 4 liqueurs. We loved the fact that there were cheese and crackers with the tasting. Our favourite was the blood orange liqueur, as my friend said “it’s Christmas in a glass”.. At the end of the tasting we were given the option to purchase the wines, ales and liqueurs at a ‘tour’ price which was the icing on the cake for us. It is a great experience that we would highly recommend, and it’s something we are planning on doing again with our friends.

What did you enjoy the most?
Our favourite part of this was the tasting of their different products.
We also loved the fact that it is family owned, you really feel the love they put into the place.

Top Tip

1. If you can make a booking to stay at the B&B on site, I would do it. It’s great to be able to enjoy the full tasting experience and not worry about having to drive.
2. Take advantage of the fact that they print personalised labels for the bottles. They’re happy to do one by itself or multiple.
3. Wear comfy footwear for the tour.
